Top House Colors 2017

Recently I sat down with my local painting expert to get some details about color trends in the Okanagan Valley!

It was only 5 years ago people were going with a more neutral and natural color palette for the exterior of their homes. Rich browns, and beige were huge and really set the atmosphere of kelowna.

Now there are two major color trends arrising in today's market. My local painting expert has said that home owners looking to refresh their homes and up their market value are turning to the color:

Gray!

Whether you have a new construction or an older home needing a fresh coat of paint, using the greys gives you a nice neutral base to start with. There are so many tones of grey to choose from that you don't want to worry about being too similar to your neighbours. People are really unleashing their creative side by accenting windows and doors with pops of color!

Adding Texture

This is a big one, especially for new construction that keeps popping up in the Okanagan. People are creating a more textured/ contemporary look to their house by adding stone, brick and wood detailing paired with a neutral off white, or lighter color. A great example of this trend is seen below in one of my active listings 5643 Jasper Way

Personally I love these new trends and both these styles are hot sells in the Kelowna Market!
